Iv got a 1.6 16v gti converted 1.o polo and over the next few weeks with any luck im going to be doing a DIY turbo conversion guide. Its not like the standard gti is slow but as always its nice to have more power. Hoping to get between 160 and 200hp from the conversion . Further posts and pictures to follow.

Good luck with this. One of the few guys who did this went through 7 gearboxes at 4 clutches in no time whatsoever!

There is a guy on Club Lupo running a Eaton Supercharger but he's uprated everything and spent over 10K on the engine alone. The standard internals wont handle more than 180-185bhp so I would recommend completely stripping the engine down and rebuilding it fully with stronger parts. You cant just bolt on a turbo and hope for the best.

It sounds like a good idea but realistically it would be easier and cheaper to do a 1.8T conversion
You will also achieve more power, "Wheres the fun in that"........ well 250bhp sounds like fun to me

New charger and bodies going on it now with a custom loom.

cant afford to do the internals right now so just gonna run low boost till i can but i do have a decomp plate going on it
