My Polo 9N

I've had a few post's on here already but just thought I would introduce myself a little better.

I recently got made redundant, and I had company car's for years so it was time to get myself a little run about. I purchased this 2005 Polo 1.2 with 22,000 on the clock for £2200, which I thought was a good price and i knew the previous person who owned it for several years so i knew the history. I think i'm still a young guy at 23, and with having company cars for years i didn't have a NCB, so insurance is still pretty high for me!

Little mods so far, I bought a set of VW Cadiz alloys from the latest version of the Polo. They were brand new with 4 x Dunlop Sport tyres and all nuts and locking nuts! Their 15" with 195/55. I think they look pretty nice on the 9N, no problems fitting them, went straight on. It's still on stock suspension, I might get it lowered at some point but i think it sits okay for now. Fitted a LG headunit, painted the rear drums matt black also as they were rusty as hell, and I removed the polo badge from the back.

Done a service on it also when i purchased it. Next is to get the private plates on it and possibly new brakes as i think their slightly warped. Anyway thanks for you time and i look forward to hopefully contributing something useful to the forum!

Sorry for the poor shots their from my iPhone, will get it washed and better pictures up later!

Looks like a good base! I thought it was Silver in the first pic, but then realised it was white - don't see many of them around. And I think that's a really good price considering the mileage.

How much is insurance out of interest with no NCD? I still think I pay too much on mine (£800, 3 years NCD). And I'm 23 next month and feel old :( Think I'm starting to miss uni and the London nightlife.

Yeah it's White Ash, I know i got a pretty good price on it since i knew the previous owners its solid mechanically apart from the brakes! lol

My insurance is with Admiral and I got it for £700 roughly, thats with NCB and been driving since 17 and touch wood have had no accidents. £800 for yours with 3 years NCB is pretty high is it not?

£700's not bad with no NCD. Mine's a TDI so a higher insurance group, but it's my freaking postcode. Changed my postcode and I get quoted £600. What a rip off!

So, any long term plans with the car?

Ash :)

I need my private plate on it which will be getting done soon and just tidy it up a bit, i dont plan on keeping it for years and years it will do me for a while until i build up my NCB and can afford a more powerful car. It's hard for me going from a 2.0 TDi company car to a 1.2 12v, lol
