new speakers in 9n... how much :O

My 5dr Polo 9n doesn't have rear door speakers. So went to the dealer to ask how much to get the speaker upgrade kit fitted (the yellow ones I think), both front and rear kits. Around £500 they said . Said I need new wiring, wiring loom etc.

Anyone else got their dealer to fit speakers and how much was it? Thought it would be expensive but not that much.

Was hoping to get dealer to fit new speakers (sticking with vw parts) and I change the headunit myself.

couldnt u buy a decent headunit (say £200) then do the wiring yourself? itll cost well less than £500, and thats including all speakers

Hiya, I've brought a new headunit already. I'll only attempt a DIY of the speakers if I've got a 'proper' guide with pics!...

Cos it's still a new car I don't want to mess it up lol... that's why I went to VW to ask how much to get them to install their upgraded speakers.

btw... how's your Polo Twist coming along? did you get the headunit and rear speaker upgrade? probably worth doing at factory... much cheaper! wish I had now.

Regards.

I wouldnt trust VW to do a perfect job. I would take to a recomended car audio shop and actually save lots of money or even do it yourself because it is not that hard once you get into it. Scorpio is the man to talk to about all that as he is the 9n surgeon :D

i didnt opt for the rear speakers for my Twist.
if i do it myself it is much cheaper.. maybe 6x9and a subwoofer...
im on a low budget anyway so DIY is my only route!

Rear speakers are a waste of time IMO.

I put Infinity components in the rear of mine, when I turned them off for a while it sounded like they weren't even there anyway. I'm going to take them out and eBay them methinks!
