helo, im new to the scene in the sense that ive jus got me first vw. been interested in them for a while but not inparticularly in polos .

the reason i am here is because i have got a E reg polo. i dnt know much about it but its red and one of em long ones with three doors. 1lt engine nothing special. first car no worrys. i was wondering tho if theres any chance of getting a body kit for it keeping with the smooth as fck style of the mk 1's which ive seen on here, although it isnt the same car but u get what i mean.

ive been searching for time and have yet to find anything. i blame it on the fact that the internet has become too hard to find stuff on.

will be here for a while cause cars do interest me especially vw's so hope first impresions havnt put u write off just as yet.

S'probably because you're in the wrong forum "room" mate - what you've got is a Mk2 not a Mk1, it can be hard to tell though I know. I've had scrappies telling me I'm driving a Mk2 before, which is rubbish. For the record it's a "hatch" or "squareback" from what i can tell off your description
The various bits of the forum do tend to go a bit quiet from time to time (and sometime, such as over inters weekend like what just went, they all die down) and as far as I've seen the Mk1 forums are especially quiet (as there's not that many about - what with almost all of them being 25 years old now). 16 to none readers-to-replies is pretty standard... you may have to wait til it passes 50 til someone responds.

(Personally I might not have said anything myself as i'm a mk3'er and so the early types aren't my area of expertise)

Another tip if you're after a response, at least make half an effort to "speak" in "proper" english, even if your typing skills aren't so good (they improve with practice, but not if you're trying to make like your PC is a mobile phone). You're doing pretty well on that front but dropping those vowels does make it a bit harder to read, looks a bit barry, and some of the folks on here hate that.

After all that, you've got yourself a good solid car there (not fast, but one of the most common around) and a good interest in it - welcome along! Just don't expect things to happen fast or furiously all the time, it's a bit more of a relaxed place

I do share that sentiment about the internet being cack for finding info on now. Personal view is that all the commercialised bobbins should have been sheparded off to a different thing than the web (like keeping it stuck on AOL and WebTV) so thems of us who actually want to learn some stuff through it can do so.... Its like going down your library and finding that there's three copies of Hustler and three argos catalogues for every book.

well i do apologise, but if you'd looked at the forum status for the mk1 polo you can see that very few posts actually occur here. The 16 people (some of which were yourself) may not of actually been able to help you - I certainly couldn't.

But I welcome you here anyway.

Welcome aboard, don't know the answer to your question though 'cos I've got a Mk1 and yours is a Mk2 by the sounds of it. Sure someone on here will be able to help you out.
