was there ever a genuine armrest for the 9n?

Only thing to be careful of is that most of these can make it difficult to operate the handbrake because of their shape. Only reason I haven't got one for mine because aside from that it would be really good...

I'd expect that they would would block access to the handbrake lever a bit, certainly the B5 Passat one, fitted as standard does a bit, but you learn to work around that issue as having an armrest is handy. I'd like to get one for my wife's Polo but it sounds like she would like it as much as the "closed storage thing" that I replaced the "trinket tray" with or the sunglasses holder (for my sunglasses) that I replaced the grab handle with or the proper soft leather gaitor that I replaced the hard leather one with or even the alloy wheel I replaced the steel full sized one with -- etc etc! Though she does like the "better" headlight bulbs and the winter wheels/tyres when they are needed, and probably the Cupra TCA rear bushes!!
