Hi,

I have a 2005 9n3 polo 1.3 12v, and i am looking into getting a 225 1.8 20vt engine conversion.

I assume I will need the following:
Engine
ECU
Gearbox
Driveshafts
Exhaust
Clocks
Key
Loom

Is there anything else I need? Has anyone done this conversion before that could point me in the right direction?

I have been quoted 6500 from PSI tuning, but they couldnt explain what they would need to do. I have found someone who can do the work for me, but I thought id try to do as much research on possible problems as I could. I've tried searching on here and on other sites but no luck.

I wouldn't bother with this mate. If you have been quoted 6500 for the engine conversion you then need to think about brakes, suspension wheels to fit the brake under etc. It would be cheaper and less hassle just to buy a second hand stage2 9n3gti.

My advice would be sell your Polo add the money you get from it the the cash you have for the conversion and buy a quick 9n3 gti.

It will be easier, cheaper, a nicer looking/ comfortable car with the same if not better performance.
