OK.. So I got my brake line fixed today, and was driving back home on the A3. (70mph zone) Then suddenly, the EPC light comes on, and I immediately notice that the engine isnt giving any more power, and i managed to get onto the slip-road, and stick my hazards on as it crawled to a stop. I pop the bonnet open, and see that the hose directly to the right of the coolant sensor had popped off (explained below) and thus all my coolant had escaped on the A3.

The reason the hose had popped out is that I had forgotten to replace the O-Ring yesterday as I was renewing my coolant.

Now; the car wont run for more than a second. The car itself would start, hear the engine run for a second, then turn itself off. I've left the negative battery terminal off for a good 20 minutes in hopes it would reset this EPC light, but nothing. I need to FIX this by tonight, otherwise I wont be able to see the missus in kent tomorow.. and that'll just give her an excuse to give me an earful.

I've got one of those mechanics lights that hook onto the battery, so I literally will be working through this all night.

Update:

In the fusebox, there are three fuses marked for Engine Management;
F31 (Mini-blade 10A)
F36 (Standard 15A)
F37 (Standard 15A)

Removing fuse F36 allows the engine to start and keep misfiring? (I think thats what a misfire is, constant JUG JUG JUG JUG sounds) but nevertheless, stays ON. Removing the other fuses does nothing. I found relay 100 (supposedly for the ECU) situated behind the fusebox, removed that and put that back in hopes that might reset the ECU, but nothing came out of it.

Desperate to get this fixed..

It sounds like the car is in some sort of protective mode to stop you damaging the engine.

Have you replaced all the coolant that you lost ??

I replaced all the coolant yes. Cant for the life of me find my vag com cable, so I ordered one off ebay again.

Its not something i have heard of before myself, hopefully Vagcom can help you out to fix it, doesnt help with your other half though i'm afraid

Okey, so I need to get my key paired to my immobiliser again. Anyone in surrey know a cheap mobile auto-locksmith (I live in Chessington). Dont want to tow the car to VW and pay extortionate prices. But more importantly, what is that first error?

P.S - I had other errors, but after clearing them, they didnt come up again.

Its a throttle body error, you could try cleaning it and see if that helps.

I used vagcom to do a throttle body allignment and its still not starting. I give up. Going to the mechanics.

Sounds like the immobiliser kicking in cutting the fuel pump

Are you sure? The auto locksmith came down and paired my key to the immobiliser. He even gave me the four digit immobiliser code if I wanted to pair anymore keys in vagcom.

Okey it definitely isnt the immobiliser. For some reason, the battery had died, so the mechanic jump started it, and it was running. However the engine was having constant fits. (Misfiring? Constant juddering?) He plugged in his diagnostic, and saw the throttle body issue. After a few minutes of fiddling with the throttle body, he told me I need a new throttle body. So now just picked up one of those off a chap @ clubpolo, and hopefully that'll be the end of it. Need to get some pictures of the GTi on here soon-ish

Sounds like the tb to be honest mate! shame i wasen't around could have given you a hand as i'm in Woking! Chris on here had a similar issue with his GTI and i supplied him with a TB and it was all happy days

Hope it all gets sorted with the new throttle body

Ignoring the lambda sensor, i'm still getting this damn Angle Sensor 2. Where is this sensor? I've just replaced the damn throttle body.

Lambda sensor is the only error I get on vagcom if you ignore it surely petrol consumption is increased ?.
