You're gonna need the wiring as well if you haven't got them already

im planning on wiring them myself, ive looked at all the wiring diagrams so i know what type of wire and things i need, then make my own switch for it aswell and put it on my very empty dashboard slots

that sounds cool! making use of those empty slots too, mine look baron lol

i was thinking to get mine wired up so they would come on when i have my sidelights/parking lights on... aparently its illegal :S

though your idea sounds more logical, would be good to see a photo diary of manufacture kinda because im clueless and really dont wanna touch any wires with my novice fingers lol

i dont think it should be illegal to have them come on in conjunction with the sidelights because then theyre just driving lights not foglights, but i doubt the sidelights loom would take the extra power needed to power the 55w foglights, aparently all the fixing things needed to run the wires are allready in the car even though it wasnt initially fitted with fogs, but yeah last thing i want to do is fiddle with the lights when i dont know that much, definately gonna cause a disaster! haha

Oh it'll be illegal alright. They're too bright to be classified as driving lights for a start. You'll end up blinding oncoming traffic.

I hate twits who have their front fogs on just for the sake of it.

It's quite easy to wire up once you have a loom made up. Just swap in a headlight switch from a car that has front fogs. Takes about 10 minutes to wire them up as VW intended.

@K.I.T.T - I would love to have a go at doing this myself is there any sort of PDF file or manual that could guide me as i do it, as i have near enough everything i need.

@sykesy123 - A diary of manufacture while your doing it would be perfect, where are you based? anywhere around London?

I'll try and make a guide at some point if someone who wants to fit foglamps fancies coming round mine and letting me fit them / take pics during the process. Mine came with foglamps from the factory and I don't want to rip them out just to write a guide.
