Blue VW steering badge on Polo 9n, Rare?!

Recently, I've noticed that almost all 9n's have the black VW badge, whereas mine has a blue badge! I think ive only come across one other 9N polo with a blue VW steering badge (probably on here).
Would anyone like to shed more light on this matter?
Thanks, Newaz.

Think it only appears on the Leather steering wheels. I've got a 9n Sport and that has a blue badge.

The earlier (I think pre 53 reg cars) have the blue and white badge, whilst the later cars have black and silver.
I've got a 53 reg Sport TDI and have the black and silver badge.

I have the blue badge on my polo '52' plate sport, and my mate has a '04' plate one with the black badge, so the above statement could well be true. Although I thought it might have something to do with the interior spec as I have colour coded interior and he has a plain interior but colour coded rub strips.
Some more differences;
Stainless gas struts on bonnet/boot? - mine
Rear interior roof light? - mine
Exterior colour coded B pillars? - mine
One touch 3 pulse indicators? - my mates
3 door seats slide when collapsed? - my mates
Centre sun visor above rear view mirror? - mine

I think you may have got a few of those model year specs confused with trim level specs, as my 52 plate has no rear interior roof light, and one touch 3 pulse indicators.
But yes, Kitt sounds bang on with the model year linked with badge colour
Loving the red colour coding on the interior, did you paint the steering wheel spokes and cup holders? Was it tricky to get a good finish?

Sorry I gave the wrong impression by putting post 53 and pre 53 on the list. I have corrected the list with what I meant to imply.
None the less the post 53 plate business is probably spot on.
The paint finish was the easy part as I didn’t want a gloss finish and it’s a lot easier to get a satin finish but the colour was a night mare, it still doesn't match after 4 different colours but its close enough!
One thing I have to say is a did it a year ago and steer wheels spokes have in places rubbed back to black plastic so I think it is something that is going to become part of my annual service!

Ah yeah mine are still black but part of the matt coating is coming off so they do seem subject to a fair bit of wear. I wonder how easy it is to source some silver ones off a crosspolo..

Black, but I'd like to get some reflex silver bits like steering wheel inserts and mirror covers! Pretty sure the dune/crosspolo had a few silver bits actually, although they're probably harder to get hold of than gti parts!

No such thing as colour coded b-pillars. They're either matt black or gloss black. It doesn't seem to be a year thing either as mine (53) appears to have come with gloss black ones from the factory. I've not seen an older or later model in person with anything other than matt black. Gloss must have been an optional extra.
Seats slide on all 3 door models when collapsed, and as far as I'm aware, all 9ns have the centre sunvisor in front of the interior light. They stopped that on the 9n3.
As far as silver bits go, the 9n3 GT PD130 has the steering wheel with the silver inserts. I'm eventually thinking of adding a 3 spoke wheel from a 9n3 - the original 4 spoke ones looks really dated.

Sorry I have a black car and just assumed they were colour coded, a bit silly really!

Mine defiantly don't, and they aren’t broken!
all 9ns have the centre sunvisor in front of the interior light.
My mates does not have this, instead he has black dots on windscreen!

3 spoke wheels do look less dated, and you can buy gti silver inserts for those easily enough. Good shout.

Ash, i stumbled across this cheap JOM upper strut on ebay for £38, but it says its for a 1.2, do you reckon it will fit? and is there any point in buying it for a 1.4? lol... seems pretty pointless to me as im on stock arb and suspension, but i have the itch to spend money for no reason lol.
