fix window

My window is sticking, so it goes up and then stops and goes down a little, i have to push the button rapidly to get it up as well as pushing it with my hand
how can i get to see where the motor is? do i neeed to take off the door panel?
is it easy enough to do? I have some tools and some diy experience (not much with cars) so i will have a go
any tutorials or anything about fixing a window?
btw it's a polo gti 2000
