1.2 AWY oil consumption. Faulty PCV?

I have a 1.2 polo 2004 and has done approx 73k. I bought it cheap after the Previous owner had a engine rebuild due to driving round with a misfire. It caused bore wash which knackerd one of the cylinders. It has been rebored and new rings etc done. Since it has started using alot of oil. Approx 1 litre per 300 miles. Im certain it's had a botched engine rebuild but I've read a faulty PCV can cause excessive oil consumption. Where are these valves so I can check it out before restripping the engine. Any help greatly appreciated
