SooperDR's - Build Thread!!

SooperDR is very happy as I am now the proud owner of a 6N2 Polo GTi.
She is a 'W' 2000 6N2 Polo GTi Black 3-Dr, with 75,000 miles.
Everything seemed great, fantastic service history and a very careful owner..
That was until the drive home..
First.. The Passenger side window packed up.. I've checked the fuses and switches.. I'm guessing this is the Motor/ Regulator..??
Second.. Just after start up the car starts to run as smoothly as a diesel.. Vibrating and Shaky and Constantly Hunting on Idle..??
Third.. The Handling.. At a bit of speed, especially on the 'Twistys' the car feels nervous and almost unstable and unpredictable..??
Any or All suggestions very welcome!

Have had a few of them issues.
Idol-I changed my plugs and cleaned my air filter. Mine was perfect after. Also check all HT leads as I hear they are a problem on these.
Handling-I brought some second hand shocks as my rear ones were bad and that fixed the problem.
Window- my wire in the drivers door where it opens and closes (in the black tube) blew. And in my old Gti the switch packed up. So it could be either.
But hey, I'm in Gti no2 and thinking about number 3 soon.
SooperDR's - Oil in Airbox..??

Cheers Bradley!
I checked the HT Leads and Replaced the Spark Plugs
Then I got the Airbox off and cleaned the Throttle Body, Filter and Airbox.
HOWEVER: I also noticed there was quite a lot of Oil in the R/H Side of the Airbox around the Rubber Seal for the Throttle Body..
Is that tube that runs through the Airbox the Crankcase Breather.. And why would there be Oil in the Airbox..??

You always get traces of oil in the airbox, nothing to worry about.
As for twitchyness, is it lowered on coilovers ? If not i would recommend them

At least that's 1 thing not to worry about..!!
It's completely standard and on the original suspension as far as I can see..
I have been looking on Venom Motorsport at their AP Coilovers. Any good..?? Or what else would you recommend..??
Are there any other suspensions components worth checking/ upgrading when I do the Coilovers..??

Handling will be your shocks gone mate, new suspension needed and your anti roll bar bushes will be shot upon inspection...
Oil is ok in the box mate, as for the coilovers I have them and they have been wicked.. No problems at all.
Just a hard ride.
Ht leads sometime break up inside and ark, I changed mine and then there was no probs.

It's nice to know all Gti owners have the same problems. Lol

I have the Hot Tuning (TA Technix) coilovers on mine, bargain at under £200 and they have been on for nearly 3 years now with no problems, ride is comfy too.
Only thing i wish i had done is re-grease the adjusters when I changed my wheels from 15-16 inch (Highered the car an inch for the 16's to fit) because they have seized now which means now I am back down to 15 inch wheels I cant lower it any more than what it is set at. Makes no difference to handling though, just how it looks really.

Wishbones are out! Now to find a friendly Garage to fit the PowerFlex bushes for me..
After a bit of time on eBay and giving them many pounds, I have ordered myself Upper and Lower OMP Strut Braces too..
