Anti roll bar fix?

I was wondering whether these split collars, (see link below) which are available in different sizes, would be a 'quick fit' replacement solution to the original steel collars, fitted to my 9n arb, that have a split in them?..

Just bolting one on each inner side of the arb bushes to stop the bar moving side to side would do the same job as the original collars.

Thoughts please from more knowledgable posters as to if this fix would work, or not?

I can't see why they can't be used, you would need to clean down to bare metal then pick a split collar that was "just" smaller than the bar at the point they get clamped on to. One point though, the original collars were only hard plastic and they were locked into position only by the thick paint that the bar was covered with. You would also then need to buy a new set of mounting rubber bushes and maybe pipe clamps - as the bar at the bearing mounting point is now smaller - nothing difficult there as the bushes you would need to buy will be the same as the bushes the new style bar of your "size" ended up being - ie all the bushes moved down a size as the plastic collars extended along to cover the mounting bush area.

I admire your approach to this problem, too late for most people though!

Spot welding thick washers on was the other way to get this sorted.
