Hey guys.. been on here a while so thought I should probably get a thread up for my 9n

Basically its a 1.4 sport tdi, all the standard sports stuff.. aircon, 6 cd changer, sports seats!

Few pics straight after I picked her up from Leeds way.. took 3 hours to get home but so worth it. 2 owners.. 66K miles and paid around £3400. Reckon that's not a bad price..?












All pretty standard stuff, with full stealership service history!

I'm a student doing Motorsport engineering though.. so it didn't stay standard for long.. got myself some Monty 2s running 195/45 General Altimax tyres all round! Some pressed plates and Wolfsburg plate holders! changed the aerial for the one off a new polo.. looks so much better!















^ ignore the broken mirror.. some idiots managed to smash it off at work.. very kind of them!

Fitted some EBC discs and pads all round the other day.. make such a difference! Got some Powerflex and Cupra console bushes to go on too.. but need the time to do it.

All pretty small things done so far, money is tight! But hope you enjoy what's gone on!

Run 205 45 that's the standard fitment mate.

Gti international next year? Yeah u should.

Oh and cut out the cat/dpf and map it. Well worth it.

Yeah I was going to run 205/45s but quite like how the car sits on the 195/45s.. And got a pretty good deal on the tyres too, so can't complain

Will be making an appearance for gti international.. Hopefully have a few more things done by then too!!

Looking into changing the whole exhaust system, is it the fabia vrs one that fits best? Then mapping it.. What sort of bhp and torque figures you get when it's been mapped?

A remap will see around 105 bhp and 170 ft lbs.

Looks like a tidy example. Just make sure it's had it's cambelt and water pump replaced. The belt should be done every four years / 60k miles and the pump should ideally be changed at 60k. It should be on it's third cambelt.

When is it? Sounds like a laugh. Started to gather a few bits to do my build, so it could be ready by then.

Wow i will be well chuffed if i get around 105 bhp and 170 ft lbs from a remap.. what are the best places to get it done? I'm out in Lincolnshire and not sure where is good, but don't mind travelling for the best places! Oh and what sort of mpg return do you get too?

And yeah the first thing i got done on the car was cambelt, water pump and full service.. cost a bomb from the stealership!! But the car runs so sweet now and pulls so good

I should have said lbft, not ftlb (spend too long on Yank forums, and you start talking like them ).

Anyway, don't bother with a "custom" tune and get a generic one for the 1.4. Graham likes r-tech, but Custom Code, Jabbasport and Superchips are good options as well. I got a "mobile tune" through Custom Code. One of their people came up in a van for no extra fee and mapped it at my house.

These cars aren't great on fuel in stop-start traffic, especially when they're not warmed up. You can just nudge past 40 MPG on a warm day in town if you drive "normally". On the motorway, if you stick to 65 - 70MPH on a long (100+ mile) run, mine returns between 58 and 63 MPG. Realistically, expect about mid 50s on the motorway, however 60 MPG is relatively easy to achieve if you don't exceed 60 MPH.

I do like r tech as he does not charge silly prices.
He can do revo if you want but he won't try to sell you nothing. Check his feedback on his website.
Ring them up and see what they can do.

Just a quick update.. got my new wheels are the car today. Some 17" Audi TT alloys! Running 205 40 17s.. Toyos all round

The photos are taken in the rain/snow/sleet earlier. But will get some better ones up soon, when ive got the centres on and the car is clean!
