Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
Nah Alpine mid-priced speakers are really really nice when amped.
Not sure that you've experienced, maybe cheaper ones or un-amped ones? I've experienced both of these and they're not good!
This is my third set, and love them!
Hertz was an option for me also, but I couldn't find a set in my price range that performed as well amped as these do.

Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
Thanks for that Tim. I shall look into the new type r's for the front and see how that goes. I have the amp all ready. I love Alpine stuff and always have done. There marine speakers are also very impressive.
How do the type r's fit in the 6n2, I mean is there enough room behind the door card so it doesn't rub the glass?
Cheers, Matt

I keep forgetting to check out this section!
Awesome updates on the vRS Tim, looks top notch : there is just something special about black cars
Are you on Briskoda Tim? They are having a track day at Castle Combes in April, think they are meeting in Cardiff and then heading down to the track later that day my mate is going in his Seat Ibiza Cupra PD160

Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
Yeh it's all about the black mate B)
Yeh man, a fairly frequent user on Briskoda. Yeh I believe I'm down as a spectator for that day, wasn't too interested in getting involved on the track until the car's been remapped really, but we'll see.

Black FTW!
Yeah it’s great fun at Castle Combes good bunch of lads on Briskoda too, always friendly on the meets etc
My mate did a few track days in his vRS when it was mapped and it did really well on the track, his was re-mapped to 175bhp & 300ft lbs of torque so it really did shift.
He’s going in April too so you might see him there, he has a Ibiza Cupra PD160 now though (Briskoda Username is Goldiejon)
PD160 Intake & Rear Anti Roll Bar should be on your list too Tim

Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
Awesome I'll keep my eye out!
I've already got a PD160 intake, and can't justify the ARB. It's only noticeable day to day on stock suspension. On coil overs you only really notice the difference on the track.

Yeah good point Tim, can’t really argue with that Coilovers are the daddy when it comes to suspension set-upsTim_GTi wrote:Awesome I'll keep my eye out!

To Pull 200bhp you will need a Hybrid Turbo, Front mounted Intercooler, bigger fuel injectors and a host of other performance upgrades such as clutch & flywheel etc.BIG RHYS wrote:Hey tim have you got yours remaped yet ?

It can be done though and Jabbasport do some good packages for TDi's although just a standard Stage 1 Re-map will put a big smile on your face
Expect 165-175bhp and 280-300 ft lbs of torque with a stage 1 map, totally transforms the car whilst still retaining good fuel economy

Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
No mine's not remapped yet.
You won't need bigger injectors for 200BHP. that would be 240+
But yeh as Ben says, FMIC hybrid PD150 turbo and a another remap to get to 200 figures.
Matt's Fabia has a SMF and uprated clutch so you'll be fine there.

Re: Tim's Fabia vRS
Yep matt told me it was remapped, didn't know about the other things and its got bigger brakes =).
Would love 200bhp, be abit of a jump from 75 to 175 at mo, so I might leave for awhile
