6n2 how to remove air vent under windscreen

anyone knows? it looks strongly attached. how can i get it removed?

The tabs that connect it are plastic welded below.
You can get it out with violence but it will never go back in properly again.

I managed to pull it out half way but i am really afraid with the rest of it.
Actually i want to paint my air vents piano black. Seen a few photos in other forums and the interior looks quite cool like that.
All other vents are already out quite easily ..
