Extremely heavy clutch

Hi all. I've had my GTi 6 weeks now and whilst i still love it to bits, it is getting extremely hard to drive to work. My drive to work is only 20mins but theres a lot of starting and stopping and changing gears.

I know that polo's tend to have a heavy clutch, but i asked my mate who is a valeter at car craft too try it. He has driven 911's, Scooby's, Evo's the odd ferrari, and he said he had never pressed a clutch that was so heavy.

Is there any chance that one of you who has had the notorious clutch/pedal box replaced, could meet me and confirm the problem. You would no if mine is on the brink of breaking.

If we could meet quite soon, then i will have chance to take it the dealer i bought it from a get him to replace it under the 3month warranty he gave me.

I await your reply fellow GTi owners.

Yes, My clutch went heavy in a pre-delivery service VW did for me... it was fine when I test drove it! :? So, I checked it over and I asked them to replace the clutch cable first. The clutch is still fairly heavy, but it's a lot easier to change gear now I've adjusted it all up correctly (which VW didn't do :? ). See the posts I put on the Pedal Box thread at the top of this forum. 8) Cheers!
