my gear lever is abit loose felling as in when its in gear or selecting gear its abit like mixing a cake!! i dont know if this is how thery are normally and because im used to the s3 being tight, but is there a way i can fix this? i took the leather cover off this morning and all the springs etc are all in place, there is abit slack movement on the cables but i dont know if this needs to be there so they dont snap.. either way id like to tighten it up because im abit scared to bang it through the gears incase i put in in 1st instead on 3rd if you know what i mean...

The linkage is at the back of the box, it is pretty pants.

Before I changed mine one of the rubber bushes went and it was porridge esque.

Mines the same. Seems abit loose when in gear.

I had the gearbox recon'ed a couple of months ago but didn't make a difference and changed the spring below the gaitor and that didn't make a difference.

So would be interested with the result.

sorted it, i took the gaiter off and the box that incases the lever is only held in with 2 bolts 1 front 1 back yet there is 4 holes so ive put a bolt and nut tro the extra ones which eliminates some of the side to side play and also i took the spring out and bent in apart more so there's more resistance and threfore tighter, feels lovel now and just clicks from gear to gear rather than being like a magic wand and guessing where your going!! although whwn i had it up in the air to adjust the selector at the box i noticed its leaking!!! and its a recon box only a month old!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrr

selector shaft seal ?

Keep an eye on the fluid levels or you'll kill the box.
