Oil in Spark Plug well

I have recently bought a 2001 6N2 - 1.4 16V.
It runs absolutely fine. no smoke, missfires and always starts strongly first time.
As I didnt know its full history I decided to give it a full service myself (well, as much as I can) and one of the jobs I decided to do was to put some new spark plugs in as they are cheap enough.
When I pulled the spark HT plug lead out on number 1 and number 3 the rubber plug connector was covered in gloopy oil. Curiosuly the 2 and 4 were completely dry,
I am guessing it the spark plug O rings - but am not sure. The car is running welll as I said and I dont think I would have know anything about this if I hadnt wanted to change the plugs. There was no obvous signs of the oil pushing out onto the head but I guess the plug HT lead seal takes care of that.
Any advice ?
Urgent job or can it wait ?
