New price range:£7,995 - £13,935

^ From Parkers. The Colour Concept cost more new IIRC!

What car claim this about mine:

Given that options were what, auto wipers/dimming mirror, heated seats or heated leather seats and satnav I'd doubt you could get it up to £20k!

Dread to think what someone paid for my Golf new considering the options on it.

I think my GTI if I remember correctly was £14K + when brand new but that was a top spec model with full leather, heated seats, climate control etc

Seems expensive now but at the time it was probably the best small hatchback on the market in terms of spec, no other hatches of that size had xenons as standard.

Shame to see them available for so cheap now though :(

I've been keeping a close eye on their price recently, it's insane to think i sold my second GTI with 86K on the clock for £3050 in August 2010... i'd would have been lucky to even get £2000 now...

I've been keeping an eye on the price of them too Joe. The price of them has dropped dramatically, hasn't it? A while back I'd considered selling up and moving to diesel but they're not going for much these days. Feel it'd be worth more to me if it was tidied up nicely.

Exactly Nigel, i wouldn't think of selling up now as the price is so low. i saw a 2001 55K for 3.5K the other day :(

I've also been keeing an eye on the GTi selling price, most go for under £2k, it's insane.

Like Nigel said, mine will always be worth more to me so I'll be keeping it for a while.

Same here really, not really sure what price mines worth they seem to have dropped so much.

I thought they were quite abit cheaper around the £13,000 mark.
