Hello, I'm new here but an old timer when it comes to owning VW's
Please can anyone offer me advice as I have just started looking for a 1.2TDi bluemotion Polo as a replacement for my 2003 Passat. There seem to be a few about for sale, mainly at dealers. Should I buy new or used. I would like one with very low miles (less than 12k) and with DAB radio and bluetooth phone prep.
Are there any known problems to look out for with them?
Many thanks

As far as i'm aware your pretty safe with the 1.2 TDI BlueMotion. I've not read any threads about any ongoing problems with them

I got a 1 year old Bluemotion last week and very pleased with it so far. Got over 72mpg on a run from Birmingham to Bristol!
I didn't see many around with DAB when I was looking as I would have liked this option. As for Bluetooth, my dealer arranged for this to be fitted to mine for £150 -

Thanks everyone for your help.
I've been digging deeper into the DAB and Bluetooth and it appears from other VAG websites that it can be retrofitted quite easily by buying the DAB specific RCD310 or RCD510. The multifunction steering wheel can also be retro fitted with a bit more work.
My plan is to look for the best low mileage example I can find and fit the DAB radio myself. Only doubt I have at the moment is whether there is a special DAB aerial and where its fitted.
Thanks again

Got mine last week too. Just started to use it for work on Saturday. 60 mile round trip. Averaging 65 mpg compared to 31mpg in my Civic Type R. Did get 72mpg on way home one day but that was in alot of very slow moving traffic. And needless to say I am now alot " more careful"

driving home. Not that I was a lunatic in the CTR. Glad i've kept it though. Must admit I am very impressed with the Polo glad I got it rather than a Fiesta or Ibiza.
