Detroit wheels on 9n3 GTi

My 9n3 GTi has 16" Denver wheels which I'm looking to upgrade to 17" or 18" Detroits. How difficult would this be, in terms of sourcing authentic rims and fitting larger wheels on the car? I know I'd be adding a fair bit of wheel weight, but the Detroits look so nice that it's worth it!

The 6R GTi has 17" Monzas that have the correct PCD. Otherwise you can go for replicas off ebay or similar.

You can't use the ones of the Golf GTi's as they are 5x112 PCD and so won't fit without adapters. The 6R wheels are the only OEM option in 17".

Thanks for the info. Will the 17" wheels fit on a stock GTi without any scrub?

I have 17" 6R Monza's on my 9N3 GTi, it does scrub on the fronts on full lock but it is pretty low.

Those 6R wheels look great on your car. That's definitely how the GTi should have come as standard. :D
