First i've heard of any problems with the 1.2 TSi. Personally i've not had any issues, mine's running like a dream after 18,000 miles.

I picked up my Polo 1.2 TSI about 2 weeks ago, been running like a beaut. Only thing is it revs quite alot when i start it then settles down to 500 rpm a couple seconds later. (doesn't sound that elegant)
Also, what combined fuel economy do you get when sitting on the motorway at 65/70 mph? I get between 45-48 mpg when i thought it should do 53??

You car is brand new. It will take a few 1000 miles to get better fuel economy...

There's not a recall on the Turbo. VW contacted me and I took mine in and all it requires is a spacer fitting onto the pipe going into the turbo (excuse my mechanical know-how).
