hi all im new on here, anyway my problem is, ive got a 53 plate polo 1.4 tdi with the pd amf engine , my engine packed up and was mis diagnosed as injectors, so bought a complete new set, then turns out engine has no compression, anyway ive bought another engine , fitted it and its siezed, (just my luck but under warrenty so its going back)

my question to you all if you could help me on this one is ,

what are the differences between the 1.4 tdi AMF engine, and the 1.4 tdi BNM engine, basically can i fit the bnm engine straight in,

Can't tell you what'll fit, but I'd investigate the lack of compression - could be cracked block/head, but more likely to be head gasket, valve seats (or broken spring?) or piston rings.

I've done head gaskets with head skim, new bolts, cambelt and gasket kit for about £100 before. ... Could be the cheapest way.

hi mate thanks for reply , im gonna have to change engine, as the bottom end has also gone, i could spend just as much repairing it as i can buy a replacement engine
