New to VW's

Hey guys.

It's my first time owning a VW and myfirst time posting on this forum! I've recently bought my first Polo. It's a MkIII 6n2. Has a few dents and scratches but i love it and love the vibe shared between VW owners and the VDub scene.

I've started work on Polo now and have debadged the back (just the p,o,l and o) and got a few stickers on it. Yesterday I took the hub caps off and gave the steelies a clean. I was just wondering really if anybody knew where i could get a set of coilovers from? (I'm buying a bonnet bra next week and would like to get the coilovers on soon after). I'm 18 years old so this is going to raise my insurance a hell of a lot so the cheaper the better! I would also like to get my steelies banded. If anyone knows where i can get either of those things i would be very greatfull. I'm in the middle of suffolk as a bit of a reference point.

I've put some pictures bellow. If any of you guys have any ideas on what i should do next I'd be happy to hear your input :).

Welcome.

Unfortunately, your pics don't work. Easy life is to put them on Photobucket, then copy/paste the .IMG code from there onto here.

Though VW refer to your car as a mk3 facelift, the enthusiasts refer to it as a mk5. (to us, each new different looking car is referred to as a new mk - so the mk2F built from 1990-1994 is a mk3, the 6n is a mk4 and the 6n2 is a mk5)

As for banding steelies, it's not a cheap process to have done, so if you can find a set for sale in the size you're after, it's likely to work out cheaper to get those.

If you go down the route of getting yours done: http://www.bandedsteels.com/

As for coilovers, you'll get a hundred different recommendations, but TA Technix tend to get good user reviews considering their low price. I've heard of FKs failing through shocks leaking early in their life.

When searching for parts, searching for "6n2" will get results and save the Mk3/4/5 confusion.
