Is it worth it ?!. Can you even still get it for these ?!.

I managed to get a new one from the main dealers for my old mk.2 Golf GTI a couple of years back and the car was already 19 years old then! It wasn't cheap at about £115 though! Hard to say if it did make any difference to the noise from the engine as I gradually did a lot of sound-proofing to the car, but it did save me having to keep cleaning & polishing the white underside of the bonnet!

What happened to your original mate? They make very little difference so I would not bother replacing it, looks better off IMO

I never had one, maybe it was taken off beforeI Got the car, I wouldn't want to spend loads on one out would only be if one came along for cheap that I'd contemplate it. But my engine doesn't half make a racket sometimes, I'm going to start replacing some piping to get it to quite down a bit. It sounds a bit airy at the min. Which I'm sure is just the breather hose.

I would try one of the local Scrap yards Jordan, you can probably get one for a tenner whereas ordering a new one from VW will be pretty pricey.
What kind of racket is the engine making, is it just when its cold in the mornings or is it fairly loud when driving normally?

Il see if I can get a video of it... Of the engine goes il get a newer car but keep this as a project... And fit the biggest lump I can in.
Saying that I still don't want my engine to go. Lol.

I would but I have very little spare cash at the min mate, I got utility bills coming out my ass !. Maybe next month if I can afford it.
