Removing bumper strips on side

Has anyone took these off ? Mine have got scratches on and look unsightly. Will they leave a mess?

It is the same procedure for the 6n2 but instead youll be left with holes like these below.

You'd need to get them welded, them skim-fileld, then re-sprayed! A lot of money + you'd really need to do the bumpers to match and you'd end up respraying a fair bit of the car just because of the trims. Would be far cheaper to rub down and repsray the trims, and could try with rattle cans if you're ok with spraying?
