Dirty Diesels

Okay, as much as some of us love diesels they certainly don't help themselves when it comes to keeping clean. I'm afraid this isn't a detailing thread, what I mean is the internals of the car
Anyway, since I'm racking up the miles I'm thinking of intervening sooner rather than later when it comes to engine cleanliness before it becomes a bigger problem.
Two things that I know of that can help:
- Oil separator
http://www.allardaluminiumproducts.co.u ... gines.html
-EGR delete
http://www.allardaluminiumproducts.co.u ... 0-bhp.html
Anybody had experience with any of these kits? Or diesel experts like to put their oar in? I understand that I'd have to get the engine fault light mapped out before the next MOT.
Thanks all
Engine is a mapped pd100
