Just a thought im thinking of selling the wheels of my Polo GT they are in need of a refurb they have small amounts of corrosion. I believe they are straight and true the tyres have good life in them. How much should i be asking for £250-300 ?

Thanks Rob

They are a fairly sought after set of wheels so you won't have trouble shifting them. I recently picked up a set of montys that were structurally fine with no scratches but were rattlecan-refurbed (I saw it as temporary protection for postage) and needed stripping and new paint. I picked them up for £200 without tyres. I would say £280-300 with tyres depending what condition they're in and see what people offer.

I bought mines for 200 with tyres off ebay about 2 years ago, best set of OEM wheels ever put on a 9n IMO, but they are notorious for corrosion damage and for the past 2 odd years, I've had constantly had to have the tyres rebeaded every 6 months or so, due to minor leaks on the alloy. Now its pretty mandatory for me to carry a tyre compressor just in case of emergency situations.

I heard that too, so bit the bullet and had them re painted. Doubled the cost of swapping wheels but I know they'll never give me any bother.

Funny you should say that as I have a set on my Golf Gti Mkiv and one alloy constantly leaks a total pain and I too have a compressor to deal with the flat tyre scenario. The alloys themselves are corrosion free on the outside but clearly needs a bit of attention to the inner seal areas.
