As title. Just wondered how often it needs to be done?
Thanks

Haynes manual says 2 years, but its filled for life as such referring to the VW workshop manuals.
Personally, every 50k is sufficient in my opinion.
Be sure to use either VW supplied gearbox oil or something like Castrol Syntrans 75W90
You must use a fully synthetic oil.
Gearbox is a fill to spill, and should take around 2.8 litres.

Depends how long you want it to last! I've changed mine twice in about 10,000 miles and it already has bits of metal in the oil!! (Recon box)

I would be concerned having metal in the oil after such little mileage!

I'll have a look in the history to see if I can find any mention of it being done. It had done 57k when I bought it and now done 63k. If I can't find any mention of it being done, I'll get it done at some point over the next few months
