I've decided that I would quite like some genuine VW mud flaps for my polo. With the car I got an accessories booklet & it says the part numbers for mud flaps are 6R0 075 116 and 6R0 075 106and cost £128 for them to be fitted at the dealership. Is there any places on-line that sells the same part numbers? On eBay I have found "genuine" polo mk6 mud flaps but the part numbers 6R0 075 111 and 6R0 075 101, so I assume they differ to what the booklet recommends?

I'm hoping somebody has already tried to fit them after buying the car and might be able to help!

The part numbers will be different depending on what bumper/sills your polo has

Its important to get the right ones or they wont fit properly.

If you take my advice try to get the shorter versions. I've got the long ones and they catch on obstacles on the road very easily, such as dropping off a very small kerb, it sounds like the bottom of the car is being ripped off!

@beerbelly is there any way to find out if the 101 or 116 part numbers are the long and short?

Those are the long ones, same as mine. I guess you can always trim them down a bit if you find them annoying.

Did you get the short ones and what part numbers was the right ones? Where did you order them? Was easy to install? And finally, did you become satisfied with the result?

Do you also have REAR flaps? Is it for any use?

I also would like to hear if someone did mount the boxes under frontseats? My car doesnt have these and i am considering to install such. If its not too expensive and difficult to install.

Yeah I have front and rear. I find the polo gets dirty very quickly, especially its arse. Seem to have slowed down the dirt build up

Does mounting these require drilling any holes in the metal panel, or just in the plastic liner/panel on the inside of the wheel house? Not very keen on poking holes in my car

Same here, I didn't realise there were two versions when I bought mine (long) they are OK with most speed-bumps but they do catch the more severe ones, but only the one fitted to the front, rear are fine. They do the job of keeping crud off the car.

Thanks wolfie. Speed bumps are pretty much all over the place where I live and those long mud flaps would probably take a beating. Some of the "bumps" are design to slow down tanks... So I'm glad I found out from this thread that there's a shorter version

Note that the rear bumper is slightly different on a standard 6R and 6C. The shape of the lower part is slightly different. So ones made for 6R won't fit perfectly on a 6C. This was discussed on another forum, although the 6C owner said he went to the VW dealer and got his 6R flaps changed for the 6C version, so there should be a 6C version available too.
