Just removed my gti side skirts to go in for spraying. What is the long piece of plastic with adhesive tape on it? It wasn't attached to anything. Is it meant to help to hold the skirts in place or something? Can't for the life of me work out where it goes. Thanks for any help.

Hi It goes along the seem on the sill it helps retain the side skirts in position best to get new ones from vw as only 7 notes each. If you put your side skirts up to the car you will see where the long strip ( hanger) will go on to the car.

I know this is an old post but does anyone know how these are fitted, any diagram?
Looking at fitting a pair to mine and vw say I will need a bracket for either side too?
