I have a 2000 6N2 Gti on 115k miles with fault code 17549,
I have searched the code and found this information:
Possible Causes:
Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) OR Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71) faulty
Vacuum Lines faulty
source:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... 141/004417
I have little experience checking for vacuum leaks but i dont think I there is one, are the MAF sensors known for needing replacing or could it be the maifold pressure sensor?
Any one had over come the same problem before?
Thanks

Turns out it doesnt have a MAF sensor but a MAP sensor, i'll give that a clean.

Check the Brake servo hose isn't split. It's a common problem on the polos.

Thanks Alex,
I have had a look and it does not seam to be split anywhere, the car idles fine but hesitates/stumbles under load and heavy accelaration.
Might have to take it to a garage which is annoying because I like sorting things out myself.
Thanks again helpful as always

UPDATE:
Just found a vacuum leak on the brake servo vacuum hose, the actual hose isnt split but this connection somehow got damaged and has a hole in...

That should have a little cap on it but looks like its been snapped off
Vw sell the pipe as a new section and its not much.

It's probably been broken for some time! Careless mechanics most of the time.

Just picked up the new vacuum hose off vw, should there be a cap or some kind of hose that goes on the end of this?
Sorry if thats a stupid question, thanks

A little green cap. You may need to buy it seperately.
