Hi Eddie,
I might me interested if you still have it.
Just got a 1.4 SE 6R for the wife.
It does not have a trip computer.
If I add this stalk, will it enable trip computer ?
If yes, are there guides/write-up to show how to do it ?
Cheers,
Mac.

Hi
I still have the stalk set
It is a good question, I know on a T5 van by adding the stalk and coding brings up the trip computer on them. Must be worth a gamble at £15

Hi Eddie,
Sorry mate I missed your reply.
Just looked at how to replace the stalk.
Seems quite involved - especially all the warnings I read about keeping the "airbag coil slip ring in tact" - what ever that is
So I thought if I was to take it all apart, I might as well look at doing the cruise retrofit at the same.
Theory is if I get this, then I would get the cruise and trip computer.
You did this am I correct ?

Taking the steering wheel off and the slip ring is easy. The slip ring has a 0 degree marking so that is where it should be when you take the wheel off.
Cruise is a big job with a lot of wires to run to the BCM, with hardly any room to work. And one wire needs to go to the ECU which is secured with anti tamper bolts. Not for the novice
If you want Cruise you will need a stalk set with Cruise, hence why this one was removed

Hi Eddie,
Got a mechanic who can help me. Has the right tools and access to VAS coder.
Do you mind sharing the wiring requirements (pin to pin) ?

Firstly sorry for bringing up an old post and secondly did this work?
If I add this stalk, will it enable trip computer ?
If yes, are there guides/write-up to show how to do it ?
Were you able to just fit the stalk with trip computer buttons and enable it in VAG-COM to a Polo 6R that doesn't have the trip computer?

What wiring/coding needs doing? I thought it was just a straight swap? One stalk with no trip buttons for one with buttons?

3x wires need to be added to the plug that clips into the stalks and they go to the cluster plug
Coding wise MFA has to be ticked in the cluster

Is this easy to do? Would I need to remove the cluster? Is there a wiring diagram for this anywhere?
