Just occurred to me that the way my fuse box is mounted does not match the workshop manual.
Mine is like this :

which seems upside-down.
have is yours mounted ?
....and does yours have the white tamper-proof paint on the two torx screws ?

Thx for checking.
so that's three out three that are the same.

Thus it looks like the workshop manual is wrong or they deliberately chose show it that way so that the fuse numbers start with "1" at the top left (as oppose to bottom right in reality).

@robbieg, VW have not printed the fuse box layout in the User manual. Picture below is from the Workshop manual.

By not publishing the fuse box layout and thus fuse functions, they effectively force you to take your car to a garage if something goes wrong.

Don't you think it's because the car is right hand drive?

The wiring loom is usually the same they just flip it over.
And if the loom on the back of the fuse box isn't long enough to reach the fuse box if it's the other way round then they just flip it over too. :)

Here is one from a left hand drive Polo 6R GTI:

That's what they did with the 9n/9n3, but they still provided the Fusecard for LHD which makes changing a fuse a puzzle every time  It's mirrored in the same way by the looks of it.

I found in winter that my washer fuse kept blowing.
Luckily i have a mate who works at VW dealer so he told me which fuse it was.
But they won't tell you which is fuse to turn off DRLs

The interior lights and sidelight fuse blew and I had to take everyone out and see if it had blown, might be an idea to put up a list on here with which fuse we have found to power what?

My wiper fuse blew when it was snowing, it was a nightmare. My fusebox is the same way and there were no instructions in the manual...

That's really helpful. Downloaded, printed and now stored in my glovebox, along with the car manual. Many thanks.
