in reply to your msn question (you'd offlined before i came inside)
- GSF web address is
http://www.gsfcarparts.com
EDIT - tested and now working after a couple letters changed
i'm trying to figure out how much it is for postage on those items but their part & descriptions page is doing my head in - might let the dude on the counter figure it out for me
whats the difference between a flasher lamp (white), indicator flasher (clear), flasher lens (white), indicator lamp....... so on and so forth
EDIT-2

ok i think i got it...
thats probably the right stuff... best to pick 'em up next time i go past and pop into a padded bag for the royal mail to shift with an address for you to send a cheque, eh? (unless it ends up costing £4 in stamps - GSF probably get discount business rate postage..)
(bummer - not "eh, they're about seven quid each mate"... seven-fifty
plus tax.. goddamnit)

After I checked the the site (using the link in the members discount section), I placed an online order for the two items you have in the table. I didn't realise that a) GSF are a national company and b) They offered mail order. Thanks for your help though. Sorry I didn't let you know sooner!
Thanks.
Karl.
EDIT: I've just had an email back saying they don't take Visa Electron. Damn, this cards gonna be the death of me theres that many places that don't take it.

Still waiting for your 18th?

Or have you just been bankrupt/involved in fraud?
I remember having an electron. It sucked hard. Luckily, Tesco's petrol station was one of the places which actually accepted the thing.
It shocks me both that 1. the bar that i work in accepts it, 2. there's people who come in and
buy £60 bottles of champagne with the thing. Now it's an over-20s club, and generally the users look 30+, so they're either old for their age and blagged their way in, have stolen it, or the combination is a good sign they don't really have any concept of finance.
(switch cards as well, though that's less worrying as you get 'em with a lot of bank and savings accounts these days... but its always puzzling that the only people who ask "do you take such-and-such" are switch users.. when it's the one type apart from mastercard you can be assured will be accepted anywhere there's a machine)
Seriously if you still want, i can have a go at sending them, unless you have someone else in the household willing to (temporarily) foot the bill

Managed to negotiate a cheque payment, thats the only good thing about a 16-18 account, a cheque book for all the payments you can't make via Electron. And yeah, roll on that 18th of mine...
Thanks for your help with this. Really appreciate it. Anything I can do for you, drop me a line...

Personally I have a solo and an electron.. it works alright, I use the electron for petrol money and it works fine at tesco's filling station, if a place doesn't accept solo you can generally just give it to them anyway and it'll go through as switch

I couldn't get by just having electron though, horrible nasty bit of plastic that is..

Oh, its a pain. Apparently you can get Switch, if you have 300quid a month or more, so I'm just about eligable. My Electron is up for renewal next month anyway. I just hope they don't make me have to put up with a multi function Electron card for the 5 months until I'm 18. I might just request Switch.

No probs karl, its cool. Just hope those are the right ones (keep us informed so we can order / avoid 'em too

)
Ahhh... Solo... that's what I was thinking of for the bar. Regular switch cards, no problem - except for the constant question

(wouldn't be so bad, but it's always when i'm stood at the till... meaning i'm facing customers, and what's on the back of the monitor? a big ol' sticker saying WE ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING CARDS....

)
But Solo... that's like Electron Prime.... dude, you're either too young to even drink, or stupid-broke, and you couldn't even get an electron, you had to settle for baby-switch. But you're here in the county's 3rd most expensive bar, ordering champagne that's 2 nights work for me (at our retail prices - or a half hour's work from our supplier

). Whats wrong with this picture? hehehe...
about the switch thing...its true that..i have one and always ask "do u take switch" in shops ive not been in before.
eh?
Please prove me wrong

... have you ever been told "no" in somewhere that actually accepts other cards?

Good luck with the fitting BTW when they arrive, though you won't need it

I just went outside to test the haynes' instructions and surprised myself with how easy and quick it is to remove/install the indicators at the front. It's open the bonnet, squeeze one clip and push forwards - that's the unit out - twist the bulb holder (like a household bayonet bulb) and then squeeze another clip to remove the cabling. Refitting is the reverse - push clip back on, insert and twist holder, then line up the cover and push-click into place.
(oh - don't forget to swap the orange bulb into the holder first

another bayonet fitting)
Sweet

Gotta be about the easiest mod you can do.

Awwwwww dammit!
GSF could only get one indicator. The other side was out of stock. They tried to get the elusive indicator from another branch in Birmingham, but that branch was also out of stock. To make things worse, they are discontinued items. I mean its a popular mod to do to the Mark3, so why discontinue them! Anyone know anywhere that does the clear indicators and repeators, besides ebay?
Thanks.
Karl.

Apparently like I said, they've gone discontinued for some bizarre reason. So they're not gonna get any more in. Atleast thats what I was told, and I was only given the option of a full refund, as they had tried to source another one from another branch. Only place left to try is
Awesome GTI
Thanks.
