mk4 air ride on a 9n3?

So i've been told that a mk4 kit should fit a 9n3 polo, although different struts apparently are necessary.
is this true or am I about to waste a load of money?
and if they do fit what extras might I need?
bare in mind this is a second hand kit i'm buying.
any info would be grand
