Hi Guys,

Does anybody know how to remove the VW badge and the POLO badge on the rear of the car?

And if this is possible, will my paint come off?

I look forward to all help.

Thanks,

Kish.

Hair Dryer with floss / a Credit Card / A screwdriver with a towel 8)

Heat up the glue behind the letters then use something to prise them off, then clean any excess glue off.

Depending what model of Polo you have the VW badge is in a dip in the boot so it wont be smooth if thats what your going for.

Thanks, the model I have is a Polo 6N2, 2000 - 2002 model.

I don't think it has a dip, i think it is flat.

Thanks for your tip. You don't have any step by step guides with photos do you?

And also it wouldn't take off my paint would it?

I have a Surf Blue 6N2.. same model as this persons car > http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/lofiver ... 29468.html

Thanks,

Kish.

Hi mate,

I used a credit card and put it behind the "P" of the "POLO".

I see what you mean about the ease of taking the letters off.

I did without any heat just as a quick test.

So now, should I use hot water or a hair dryer and direct it at the badge for a few minutes then start taking the lettering off?

Or should I take the lettering off THEN use hot water or hair dryer to remove excess adhesive left from the letters?

Also will there not be a shadow or a color difference be left over, of the word "POLO" after removal of badge and cleaning?

Thanks,

Please help me some more, :)

My model is a VW Polo 6N2 1.0 E MPI year 2000

The main VW badge in the centre of the boot, will this have a dip? or will it be smooth?

Kish.

I did mine on my 9N3 without the use of heat, but everyone says it makes it easier, so maybe just try a hairdryer to melt the glue a little to speed thisngs up.

you should be able to clean the adhesive off the black with general cleaning producs and some elbow grese i dont remember mine giving me any trouble whatsoever.

now with the paint behind, yours is an older car than mine so i would lean towards sayinf that there might be a difference in the paint behind the lettering, but i dont know how your car has been cared for so couldnt say 100%.

and as alex said above, there will be a dip being the VW bagde unfortunatly :(
