Aftermarket headunit fitting with a loom thats has been cut?

Hi guys i recently brought a polo 6n2 and the lad before me decided it be a great idea to cut the original loom off (t**t) so i now have a aftermarket sony cd player to go in whhch i have purchased to new harness s so i can wire it into the existing wires coming out of the car itself only trouble is ive had a go and cant seem to get the cd player to turn on/off with the ignition if also the wires aint colour co-ordinated so dont help me really ha if anyone knows what wire is which and way it should be wired in let me know the order.
out of polo red to yellow in new harness ?
