Wonky drivers side window

This has been going on for about a month but today I had my door card off.

Basically the window suddenly struggled to close after I'd shut the door with the window down. This was definitely the trigger to buggering something up. I had to help the glass all the way up as it sticks and fails safe by motoring down.

Then, all of a sudden, it started working again so I left it but the glass was ever so slightly tilted forward as I could here a slight wind noise from the top corner at 60+ mph

Then yesterday, I had a panic call from the wife on the one day I left her with it lol. It stuck again. I've got the door card off and the tracks are all secure, the glass seems secure on the lifters(?) and everything's seems in place. However, when I slaved the switch back in to study the motion of the window, it's clear the whole glass is going up slightly rear wards first and under great stress too I nearly got my hand chopped off as I was trying to help it out the door!

Looking through the 'window' archives, there's something about clips, other than a common wiring problem I can't find much else.

Sorry for long post!

Problem is the window reg clips are plastic and snap off. This looks to be the case here. Luckily with a small cable tie you can reattach it. Sorry i can't be more specific at the mo its been a good few years since i last did one.

Whip the card off again and look at the two window holders and you should see what i mean.

Cheers Joe, I've left the door card off and just reattached my speaker/housing and window switches.

I'll have another look today. Has anyone got a pic of the tie wrap repair or the broken bit to steer me in the right direction?

Thanks again.

The broken bit is a square metal holder which is located at the bottom of the window, you have two.

They look ok tbh. That's if I was 100% sure what I'm looking at

It's where the metal brackets attach to the regulator guides with a plastic bracket that break

If you give it a gentle wobble there should be some play.

Cheers chaps I'll have a look later. I've got a spare mechanism come to think of it so I'll do a comparison assuming the other ain't broke too :? Or take the other car apart to compare!

I've found the problem. As Joe said at the beginning, its the clip, the rear one has broken tangs on it and the metal glass holder part moves free of it when the glass is right down.

How do you tie wrap it? I've tried a couple of ways but it still separates when fully down. Can you buy these clips? I don't want to use the one off my spare mechanism as I need it for the other door.

A quick fix will do for now, I want my door card back on for Edition this weekend
