As above, im trying to switch off the service light on my 02 9n 1.9tdi. I've tried all off the combinations listed below but I cant reset it.
Any help as to where im going wrong?

1. Ignition turned off
2. Press and hold down distance reset button (bottom right of speedo display) and turn ignition on to first "click" whilst still holding down the distance reset button for about 15 seconds
3. The service display will clear out showing display of dashes (-----)
4. Release the distance reset button
5. Switch off ignition


1) Switch off the ignition
2) Press and hold the reset knob for the trip meter
3) Turn the ignition on and turn the reset knob clockwise. The display will return to normal mode.

OK so seeing as know one committed on this question, I Asked my local garage & they reset it for me, for a tenner. Job done

I know it's too late but it might save someone a £10.00

Service reset

Press trip-ignition off
Hold trip down
Switch ignition on
Twist trip to right
Wait
----
Done

I will give this combo ago john, service spanner indicator is flashing up again. Doing 500 miles a week commuting is racking up some serious miles!
