Have a 2012 GTI that came with RCD 510 and MDI from factory but no Bluetooth.
Added Fiscon Kufatec Plus modul that enabled bit telephony and A2DP in stereo at the dealer that also coded the car. Works fine aside for one thing when I play Bluetooth music from my phone I can skip songs via the steering commands but the next and previous song buttond and song title are greyd out on the RCD 510... Never figured why that is so if I'm able to skip them on the wheel control and see song title on the MFI why not on the unit!?!
Now fast forward to today I found a nice deal on RNS 510 LED version 1T0035680P production AUG 2013 and bought it. Seller swapped the units out and installed the GPS antena... We'll kind of installed he connected it pulled it out from the back and feed the cable past the cod rivers side and positioned it on the top of the dash... Very non elegant solution that I would like to solve different in the future. Works do
but would like to put it under the dash question is where is the best position off it to stay put and still provide good satellite reception?!?Second thing I need to solve is MDI input level... It's way to high I set the AUX setting to LOW that helped but still it is to strong via mdi and iPod 160gb connected . I can only crack it up just a tad mid volume and after that it's overpowering the speakers I did not have that problem on RCD 510... What do u suggest?
I will also need to recode via VAG what do I need to code I think compas and route directions to comme up in MFI as I don't have this now... Voice control comes up but does nothing I have microfon with friscon installation but the voice control don't reckognize it use it? Probably also needs coding. A2DP is same as on rcd workers on mfi and wheel not on the unit so this still needs changing.
