Some weird plug.

Being investigating compartments in my car and found something strange behind the cigarette tray.

If you open the lid, there is a dish where ash can be put. I decided to remove this dish, (as it is easily removed,) and i found a purple coloured scart looking plug. What is it for.

Have any of you noticed it and know what it is for.

Yep, Eddy (another member on the forum) showed me what you can do with a laptop, cable and VAG-COM software at Inters. It's really cool, you can test the dials on the dash to ensure that they are working, test the buzzer and see if there are any faults on your car...needless to say I had a few!

Better than that you can change things like the weight of the steering, the central locking settings, one touch setting of the windows, can measure how much torque your engine is producing etcetc
