Kurt on the same page has them, but I can't tell if he has leather or not.
I looked into the chrome rings, they are part of the whole cluster, you can't get just the rings. Perhaps a company will start producing them soon!

I thought you would only get this is you have the satnav, then you also get the centre navi display. I am waiting for someone to produce them myself.

Don't the rings for a Mk4 Golf fit? The Mk3 Golf and Mk4 >1998 are the same too.

Any thoughts?

Polo2k, I'd definately be up for some chrome dial add ons (didn't really want to say want a chrome ring, ahem) I'm sure if we generate the interest it'd be enough for someone to make them for us.

OK, Just had a word with VDUB about the chrome dial rings. They don't do them seperately you need an entire dash console.

With the new console you get the chrome rings for speedo and rev counter plus your fuel computer and outside temperature gauge on the red digital display in the middle of your dashboard where the navigation display would be.

Problem is it costs £127 plus a £100 surcharge for your old unit, normally they send these back and get a refund but in this case they'll charge you a hundred quid because there is nothing wrong with it. You also need to add on fitting. Polo2k if you could find out about retrofits I'd be interested.

I'm not paying £227 plus fitting

Yeh I found that out des, so will wait for a company to produce them.

And Speedy, no I thought the same until I looked and they are completely different! The Polo has a flat bottom and the Golfs are completely round, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh right.

Shame though, they'd be cheaper than the current options!

The reason you can't change old exchange units for different ones is because they have to be to orginal part no. It used to be easy to get away with but VW have really tightened there grip on it now

Shame, my car needs a new combi (theres a rattle in it) and I was gonna ask if they could swap it for a chrome combi :?

Well, I had quite a shock today. I have just found out that a chrome instrument-combi is only £115.00+VAT...   ...and thats not at cost (my price).

The downside? A surcharge of £47.00, but thats basically nothing when you consider that a surcharge unit for an A3 is £250.00

It will also needed to be coded into the vehicle. I'm seriously thinking about getting it done, my car needs a new combi due to a rattle so I'm gonna see if my dealership can 'fiddle' it FOC
