Cold feet

Hiya iv got a 07 reg polo gti and when I have the heating on hot I get warm air coming out my vents but I get cold air come out of the passenger footwell
Okay, as it is a GTI version, it should have auto air con, so I'd reckon that one of the flap motors is failing/faulty. Check tinterweb and see if there is a way to force the air con controller to perform a self test, if there is there should also be a full listing of fault codes. Personally I have VCDS which is a scan tool and it does all this stuff for me. Flap motor failure is rife in all VAG products and can be costly to fix, unless you can work with restricted access - which I tend to be able to do.
Maybe also have a look at other VAG forums, like the Fabia one (www.briskoda.net) or the Ibiza one (www.seatcupra.net) as under the skin they are all the same cars roughly.
