Lucy's Polo 9n3
Lucy's Polo 9n3
Hi,
So I'm fairly new to the whole dub scene but have always loved VW's!! I recently went to ultimate dubs as it is literally 10 minutes down the road and was totally inspired!!
I have been looking at build thread's for the 9n3 and have seen that they are mainly for the GTi model which is fair enough but I thought I'd upload my project for all those who have the standard model.
I bought my black Polo 9n3 SE 1.4 about a year ago for £4500, it has a dew dinks and scratches here and there and the paintwork has the most swirlmarks I have ever seen but it only had 20k miles on the clock and one previous elderly owner so I couldn't pass it up! Besides, the paintwork was nothing a good detail couldn't fix
Yes, I know it's taken me a while but I've been deciding what I want to do with it before I throw all my wages at it as I am prone to changing my mind a lot! So here's a list of my plans...
Glossy Black B Pillars DONE
Left Wing Mirror (Indicator has been smashed off by a passing car -_-) DONE
Pressed Plates DONE
Wheel Tracking DONE
Debadge DONE
Tax Disc Holder DONE
Tailored Car Mats (The old ones were from the garage with their company name on it looks awful!) DONE
Stubby Aerial DONE
Black Badges (Front & Back) DONE
LED Number Plate Lights DONE
Ozram Nightbreakers DONE
GTI Honeycomb Grills
GTI Headlights
Bushes (It makes an awful squeaky noise when I go over bumps) DONE
H&R 35mm Lowering Springs DONE
Window Tints (4% Rear and 70% Fronts) DONE
Bluemotion Rear Valance
Bluemotion Front Splitter
GTI Side Skirts
New Wheels
Full Detail
Interior Retrim
Bump Strip Removal
I'll post some photo's of my car when I get round to giving it a GOOD clean as I work next door to a farm which means maintaining the cleanliness can be difficult...
Other than that I'd love to hear what you guys think... tips, suggestions and constructive criticism is allll good
I have ordered most the the minor parts already and will be posting photos for every step so watch this space!

Re: Lucy's Polo 9n3
Can I ask where you got the black rear badge from ?
I've just bought a 1.4tdi and new to the dub scene too, your build sounds similar to what I'd like to do!

Clean Photos
Okay so finally found a good day to wash her!!
Bought myself a waffle weave towel recently and this was the first time I used it... Was awesome!! SO much better than the leathers I have had before!!
Pretty impressed with the finish as well, as this is just after a quick wash and dry
Wing mirror indicator fixed!! Was a bit of a faff cus the screw was in THE most awkward place but managed to get it sorted

Photoshopped Lenso BSX's on to see if I like them on my car... I'd like them to be painted a really deep purple so this is my attempt at that
Thoughts?

Re: Lucy's Polo 9n3
definitely need a different profile tyre if you got them
Re: Lucy's Polo 9n3
I'd get a fairly low profile tyre tbh... Hate it when people put on some really nice wheels and then stupidly high profile tyres, looks stupid! And have them as 17's so they match the arch line as my 16's don't even if the car was lowered which irritaes me, 7.5 fronts, 8 at the back with some coilovers so it's sitting nice and low... I would get bags but I don't know if I can part with that much cash!! That's the plan anyway!andyc315 wrote:definitely need a different profile tyre if you got them
