Hi all having a little trouble with my car. The drivers side front hub seems to catch on one the ends of the bolt for the ball joint so ive had to trim the bolt slightly for it not to catch. When I had it on the ramp a friend told me he thought it had the wrong side ball joint, I took it off and it had the letter R stamped on it wich I assume means "right" for drivers side. I ordered a drivers side ball joint and it was identical to the one I took off and it has made no differnce to how the hub/strut sits. The strut is also sitting further back than the other side so its screwing with the caster aswell. Is there something im missing? Any help appreciated, cheers.

Is it a genuin part? When I changed mine (with OEM) there wasn't a problem but the thread is close to the hub, I had to angle grind the threads off a bit to get my ball joint splitter in there to remove the old ones. They are handed too, if they are fitted the wrong way around the wheels will look like they are sat back in the arches.

Its not genuine but its OE quality. I read that the 6n has two set ups for 13" and 14" wheels. If you have 13s use the right for right and left for left. But if you have 14s your supposed to swap them around. I take it its the same for 15" wheels?

R doesnt necessarily mean drivers side. It depends on how the manufacturer is terming what side is what
Whats the make and part number of the part you bought?

The correct parts are....
6N0407365 Left
6N0407365A Right
Left is passenger side on a right hand drive vehicle or drivers side on a left hand drive vehicle
