Hi All,

My Polo's AC seems to have a little issue with the AC, the AC appears to be blowing cold but the car doesn't seem to cool down in fact as soon as you turn the fans off the car is to hot. I borrowed my mates VAGCOM and found these issues:

00818 - Sensor for Evaporator Outlet Temperature (G263)
30-00 - Open or Short to B+
01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)
30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)
30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)
29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent
01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent

I think most of these are connected via the same 18pin adaptor but I can't see an easy way to access it, I would like to check cables are in good condition, plus check that the connector hasn't been knocked out of position. I found that in order to get to this it requires a complete dash removal which also includes removal of the AIRBAGS, Which I do not really want to tackle myself...

Other than taking to a Auto Mechanic or some place that would over charge me... Do you think there is a easy way for me to get access to the G263 sensor and or the 18pin connector that goes to the Control Unit?

Replacing the evaporator temperature sensor - I've got no experience of this personally, but years ago there was a detailed guide maybe in the Skoda forum about this, just need bendy arms, ability to work blind and a few other qualities including patience - sounds possible!

The flap motors, temperature flap motor not moving will cause problems, maybe try cycling it HOT>COLD> etc etc , that might let you get some use out of it, same for any other motors, but in reality, they need replaced as the positional feedback contact rings have become dirty, so are giving wrong signal back to controller. If you have VCDS, try basic settings a few times.

Just wondering if you've found your issue as I have the same problem with my 9n?
