I have a RCD510 DAB Radio in my car.. But no DAB aerial.
I have phoned my local dealer and they directed me to a 3rd party company, which i found abit weird.. I contacted the 3rd party store who said to get a DAB Aerial... I have 2 options..
1. Stubby aerial £70
2. Shark Fin aerial £100
Including fitting on both.
My dad - being a Aerial Technician - just tried to bodge the FM/AM Fakra cables to see if it will pick up DAB but no joy.
I was wondering if anyone has any links to places where i can get cheaper aerial.. Or do you think the £70-£100 options are good?
Any advise is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: DAB Aerial
Don't waste money on a "DAB Aerial"
An FM Aerial covers the bands that DAB broadcast on. If you can't pick up DAB then the broadcast signal isn't strong enough in your area, or the sensitivity of the Aerial isn't good enough.
People selling DAB aerials are charging more for the privilege of adding "DAB" to the description.

Thats what im thinking.
Its the same as getting charged for a 'digital' tv aerial..
What would you suggest I do?

Re: DAB Aerial
don't be a cheap skate
£100 for an antenna and extension cable is hardly going to break the bank.
If you have a DAB radio get it all fitted
I love mine, and glad i spent on upgrading

Sadly Eddie.. I dont have a lot of money, so if i can save the £100, then im more inclined to do it..

Re: DAB Aerial
If your budget is limited then go for a windscreen antenna
I've fitted one of these on a passat with an RCD310, it worked quite well
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JVC-HAL-1-FAK ... 3f389c3f24
has a proper plug and doesn't cause a fault code on the radio like some others i have fitted
