Alright everyone, I've got an unofficial vag com cable, this one; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00IT5X ... ag_m_pw_dp
It says to only use the software provided however the disc is blank, am I alright to donwload vcds 12.12 and disconnect from the internet, as that is the version that would be on the disc.

It'll only work with 12.12.0 so you'd have to make sure it's that specific build

I have not been able to view that product from Amazon, but, as 12.12 is the latest release, I would hope that it would not work with any unofficial VCDS cables.

I'd expect unofficial old style "not smart" cables to only run version 9.32 etc.
